Laboratory for Visionary Architecture Digital origami tigers

Digital origami tigers took over Tassie during the Ten days on the Island Festival. University of Tasmania's School of Architecture and Design students explored the potential of working with digital design in a two‐day workshop with LAVA Chris Bosse. The Japanese art of paper folding was translated into an architectural exploration of how the folding and repetition of modular elements can create complex and evocative spatial forms. The result: 250 thylacine‐shaped pieces were slotted together to form the seven sculptural mobiles in Spatial Origami in the foyer of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. http://www.tendaysontheisland.org/
